Coins of Joseph
For years scholars have derided the biblical account of Joseph for a variety of reasons. One of those reasons was that the story in the Bible talks of a coins used by Joseph’s brothers to purchase grain. The contention was that the economy of Egypt was fueled by bartering, and not by the giving and receiving of currency. Today, there are some reports out on a recent study by archaeologists that purports to have found actual coins from the time of Joseph – some of which even bear his image.
