Next Steps & A Passport for Aray

We turned in Andy’s passport application today, and should be seeing a passport for the boy in the next four to six weeks.  We are hopeful that he will be joining us when we do eventually head to China.  For those wondering how this process works, we are currently waiting for a Pre-Approval to our Electronic Acceptance of Emily.  The PA simply means the CCAA (China Center for Adoption Affairs) has determined that we can proceed with the adoption.  It is not an official approval, but indicates that the CCAA will be moving forward on the review of our dossier and our rehabilitation and nurture plan.

Following the PA, we will be looking for the Referral Acceptance.  The RA confirms that China has approved our request to adopt Emily.  This can come in the next two to six months.  A Travel Approval will be issued two to six weeks after the receipt of the RA, and at that point plans will be made to travel over to China to get our girl.

Until then we are sorting out the funding for our final expenses; beginning to think about where to put Gregg’s office, as it will soon be transformed into a bedroom; and jumping through some additional hoops.  We need to take a class online that is geared towards adopting older children, and we need to learn some basic Chinese fast.
